Chief Labrador Retriever Adult Male in Denver, Colorado

My story
Meet Chief!  This beautiful 4 year old lab is in search of his new forever.  He was given up by his previous family to one of their friends, but they unfourtunately cannot keep him for much longer and reached out to us for help in finding this boy a new home.  Chief was bred to be a bird dog and has been known to chase and kill chickens and ducks.  He is great with other dogs and enjoys going to the dog park, although sometimes he will try and mount other pups.  He can be redirected and has been improving.  He is also still intact and is scheduled for a neuter appointment December 21st, so we believe these habits will go away after being fixed. Chief has great house manners and is housetrained and crate trained.  His crate is his safe space and will often go there to sleep or if he feels overwhelmed.  He does not bark, chew or dig and learns new commands very fast!  He does not show much interest in toys but will chew on bones when his foster family is gone.  He can be trusted in the house alone and is not destructive.  Chief enjoys a good romp around the yard and would love if his new family has one for him to run and play in!  He can be very curious on the leash and does pull, but has been working hard on leash manners and just needs some continued guidance.  Chief is great with other dogs, cats and kids!  He will make a great addition to any family!  Chief is in need of a FOSTER or ADOPTER.  Please contact  if you are interested in meeting this boy, or fill out an adoption/foster application.
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Chief, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
