Miami's story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.
Please consider that many of these dogs have been abandoned, ignored by their previous owners, or turned in to a shelter, having little interaction with someone who cares about them.
When adopted, they will need time to adjust to the changes in their life.
Hi, my name is Miami and I'm a very pretty three year old GSD who was transferred to FRGSR after being surrendered to a shelter because my former family said they didn't have time for me anymore. I'm a happy, friendly girl who has some arthritis in my hips, but I love to go for walks while my handlers work on my leash manners (I pull a lot). My former owner said that I did well with dogs and people, but the rescue has observed that I can be possessive of my toys. No info on how I may do with cats. More info to come as I settle in. My adoption fee is $350. Update: I've been living in a foster home for the last several weeks, and I've lost a good bit of weight, which is awesome! I've also been seen by a vet who put me on some pain meds for my hips and my foster mom says that she really can't tell that I have any issues with pain or stamina. I get out daily and run and play with the rest of the dogs and when it's time to settle down, I'm happy to have my own space with a toy that I can play with and chew on. My foster mom has a cat and she says I'm doing fine with Mr. Kitty. All I need now is for my forever family to come along and take me home!

Although we do our best to keep our adoptable animals page as current as possible, not all the animals you see may be available.

We get dogs often, so get your application in, and we will do our best to match the best dog to you and your circumstances.
